Maryland Vs. Clemson Recap: Terps Hold On Against Tigers For First Road Win Of Season

The Maryland Terrapins barley held on at Littlejohn Coliseum, defeating the Clemson Tigers 64-62 to move to 4-5 in the ACC. The Tigers whittled away at a 14-point Terp lead over the final ten minutes to cut it within one with under a minute to play. But the free-throw shooting of Terrell Stoglin and Sean Mosley, and some missed Clemson free-throws, helped seal the game down the stretch.

Stoglin was huge for the Terps. The ACC's leading score finished with 27 points. Mosley added 16 as the Maryland guards hit seven of ten attempts from behind the arc to snap an eight-game road losing streak. Alex Len had a quiet game, but his first and only bucket was a huge one as it extended Maryland's lead to three at 61-58.

Down three with the ball, Clemson's Andre Young pump faked and leaned into Pe'Shon Howard to draw a three-shot foul. Young, an 88 percent free throw shooter, missed the first two of his three attempts from the charity stripe. A last second heave by Young went just off the rim to give Maryland the two-point win.

With their first road win under their belt, Maryland now heads to Cameron Indoor Stadium to face Duke this Saturday.
