Capitals Vs. Jets: Alex Ovechkin Leaves Practice After Colliding With Mike Knuble

Alex Ovechkin left Thursday's practice after colliding with Mike Knuble.

BALLSTON, Va. - Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin left Thursday's practice after colliding with forward Mike Knuble.

While performing drills, Ovechkin and Knuble collided at center ice at full-speed. Both men fell to the ice, but Ovechkin was slow to get up, laying face down on the ice for about two minutes while his teammates looked on and assistant athletic trainer Ben Reisz attended to him. Ovechkin, doubled over in pain, then went to the bench under his own power, where he stayed for about three minutes before leaving for the locker room.
