Stay connected for news and updates

The Virginia Commonwealth University Rams have advanced to the Round of 32, where they will take on the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.

The Hoosiers defeated New Mexico State 79-66 in the Round of 64 Thursday evening. The Hoosiers were led by Jordan Hulls, who scored 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field. Christian Watford, Will Sheehey, and Cody Zeller each added 14 points for Indiana.

The Aggies were led by Wendell McKines, who scored 15 points. Bandja Sy added 12 points, while Daniel Mullings added 10.

In contrast to VCU, who has now won six of their last seven NCAA Tournament games after Thursday's 62-59 win over Wichita State, the victory over New Mexico State was Indiana's first NCAA Tournament win since 2007.
