VIDEO: Fisticuffs In Maryland Vs. UNC Lacrosse Game

Stay connected for news and updates

The Maryland Terrapins men's lacrosse team fell 11-10 to North Carolina Saturday afternoon at Fetzer Field in a game that featured five ties, four lead changes and an incident late in the game. With 40 seconds left to play, Maryland's Kevin Cooper drilled North Carolina's Greg McBride in the head. In retaliation McBride speared Cooper and then, as they say, it was on, with Cooper throwing haymakers at McBride. And unlike most of the sports fights you see these days, punches were actually being landed.

After the jump, witness the fists flying:

As you would expect, both players were ejected and four major penalties were handed out to the two teams for the scuffle.
