NCAA Lacrosse Rankings: Johns Hopkins Overtakes Virginia For No. 1; Maryland No. 9

Where do the other local teams stand after an exciting week of Lacrosse action.

In the most recent Men's lacrosse rankings, three local teams have the top five spots in the nation according to the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. After a thrilling 11-10 overtime victory Saturday, the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays took the No. 1 ranking from the team they beat, the Virginia Cavaliers. The Cavs only dropped one spot to No. 2.

The Maryland Terrapins, after an 11-10 loss to North Carolina on Saturday, dropped a pair of spots to No. 9 in the rankings. The Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds stayed at No. 5 after an 11-6 victory over Georgetown on March 21.

Both Navy and Georgetown round out the top 20 at Nos. 19 and 20 respectively. Navy cracked into the top 20 thanks to a 12-11 victory over No. 17 Colgate on Saturday, while Georgetown dropped two spots after the loss to Loyola and a 13-11 loss to No. 8 Duke on Saturday.
