D.C. United really turned up the intensity in the second half as they scored three second half goals to record a 4-1 win over FC Dallas Friday at RFK Stadium. After being tied 1-1 at the half, United dominated the second half. With the win United improve to 1-2-1 with 4 points. The loss drops FC Dallas to 1-2-1 and a matching 4 points.
Nick DeLeon got on the score sheet in the 60th minute with a beautiful goal off an assist from Danny Cruz. United didn't stop there as Cruz scored his first goal of the season off a DeLeon cross in the 66th minute. United were pushing for a fourth goal and it quickly came in the form of a Maicon Santos header in the 73rd minute off a pinpoint cross from Dwayne De Rosario.
FC Dallas had no response and barely mustered any offense in the second half. Despite dominating for most of the first half FC Dallas came out flat, and United took full control, and more importantly, 3 points.

D.C. United struggled for much of the first half at home against FC Dallas. Dwayne De Rosario bombed a couple shots on target, but for the most part FC Dallas looked to be in control. That is, until United forward Maicon Santos scored the first home goal of the season for United in the 28th minute to put the Black-And-Red up 1-0.
FC Dallas had a few early chances and forced United goalkeeper Joe Willis to make two fantastic saves in the first ten minutes. Willis made another fantastic save in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper had no chance on FC Dallas' goal in the 41st minute. After Defender Emiliano Dudar misplayed a pass, Blas Perez walked in on goal and put low shot past Willis.
D.C. United and FC Dallas will both be looking for a winner in the second half. United need all 3 points, and cannot afford to drop their first two at home.
