The Washington Capitals defended their home ice on Thursday night at the Verizon Center, beating the Boston Bruins 2-1 and evening the series at two games apiece. The scene shifts back to Boston this afternoon for a pivotal Game 5 that should give the winner a decided advantage in the series.
Boston will look to cut down on the penalties that gave Washington an advantage in Game 4, while also trying to penetrate the Caps defense that's given them so much trouble in this series. Boston scored just one goal in 45 shots on net. That's a problem the Bruins will have to correct rather quickly if they're going to win this series.
Game 5 starts at 3:00 p.m. EST on NBC. Stay tuned for further updates.
