Seth Greenberg Fired: Dell Curry To Be Considered For Virginia Tech Vacancy, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

During his press conference Monday afternoon, Virginia Tech Athletic Director Jim Weaver said that he had already been in contact with "some of the biggest names in the business" about potentially replacing the fired Seth Greenberg. At least one name has already been linked to the job, according to CSN Washington's Chick Hernandez.

Curry was a four-year starter at Virginia Tech and still holds the school's all-time mark for steals (295) and is Virginia Tech's second-highest all-time scorer (2,389 points). He went on to play for five different teams in a 16-year NBA playing career.

Curry has no coaching experience at the college or pro level. He was named as an assistant coach of the Charlotte Bobcats in the summer of 2007, but stepped down before the season began so that he could attend his son's college games at Davidson. Steph Curry currently plays for the Golden State Warriors.
