Wizards Vs. Cavaliers: Jordan Crawford Will Sit Out Final 2 Games, Trevor Booker Shut Down As Expected

Before their final road game of the season on Wednesday night in Cleveland, the Washington Wizards announced that shooting guard Jordan Crawford would be shut down for the season. He will miss the game against the Cavaliers as well as the season finale on Thursday when Washington hosts the Miami Heat at Verizon Center. Crawford, who has been the team's leading scorer in the second half of the season, sprained his ankle over a week ago in the Wizards' road win against the Bulls. He has struggled ever since and the club simply decided to end his season early.

Along with Crawford, head coach Randy Wittman said Trevor Booker's season is also done. Booker has been out the entire month of April with an injured foot and was certainly not expected to come back in the final week, and that was confirmed on Wednesday.

As for the Cavaliers, likely Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving will start for Cleveland in their home finale. It was announced earlier in the day that Irving was doubtful, battling an illness that was later disclosed as gastroenteritis. He missed the morning shootaround but showed up at Quicken Loans Arena and was on the floor shooting before the game. The team then disclosed that he would start on Fan Appreciation Night in Cleveland.
