NFL Draft 2012: Washington Redskins Will Select Robert Griffin III With 2nd Overall Pick

It's official. The Washington Redskins will select Baylor QB Robert Griffin III tonight with the 2nd pick in the NFL Draft. Redskins GM Bruce Allen appeared on the NFL Network's 2012 NFL Draft Kickoff Show and talked about the process of moving up to the 2nd pick and why he's excited to bring Griffin to the nation's capital.

[W]e think that Robert fits our offense to a tee. We’re excited about being able to complement him with what we’ve already been able to do with some of his special talents. Obviously his charisma is going to be embraced by the Redskins Nation.

Washington has been searching for a franchise quarterback for the better part of the last two decades, and Redskins management believe RG3 will be the person to fill that role.
