Masters 2012: Virginia Tech's Johnson Wagner Misses Cut, Shoots 9-Over

Stay connected for news and updates

The 2012 Masters finished with a wonderful playoff between eventual champion Bubba Watson and South African Louis Oosthuizen. Watson hit a great shot after a poor tee shot on the 10th hole that placed him in great position to put the ball in the hole in two putts.

There was only one local golfer from the D.C. area, Johnson Wagner, who resides in Charlotte, NC and attended Virginia Tech, had a rough weekend at the Masters. On the first day of the Masters, Johnson shot a 79 and followed that up with a 74 in the second round. Unfortunately for Wagner, his score of 9-over wasn't good enough to continue to the third round and he missed the cut.

Wagner earned his Masters invitation by winning the 2012 Sony Open.
