UNC-Wilmington guard Adam Smith will be transferring to Virginia Tech according to a report. How did he fair against ACC competition last season while with the Seahawks?

The Virginia Tech Hokies have landed UNC-Wilmington Seahawks guard Adam Smith according to a report by Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com.

Smith got extensive time for the Seahawks as a freshman, on the floor an average of 30.3 minutes per game while averaging 13.7 points per game. Despite a below average shooting percentage at 37.9 percent, he shot 33.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Smith played great in both games the Seahawks played against ACC opponents this past season. Against the Maryland Terrapins on Nov. 13, Smith scored 23 points and shot five-for-nine from three-point range against the Terrapins. Against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Dec. 21, Smith scored 32 points on seven-of-twelve shooting from beyond the three-point line.

New Hokies head coach James Johnson should have a great scoring threat on the floor to start his tenure after Smith sits out one season because of his transfer.
