The young Hoyas will have to grow up fast before taking on the Texas Longhorns at the Jimmy V Classic in early December next year.
The Georgetown Hoyas' non-conference schedule is starting to fill up, and they appear to have added another marquee early season tournament game in New York City; according to our very own Casual Hoya.
In some nice scheduling news for a change, the Georgetown Hoyas will face off against the Texas Longhorns in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, December 4th. The men's doubleheader, held at New York City's famed Madison Square Garden for the 10th consecutive year, will tip off at 7 p.m. ET with Texas vs. Georgetown followed by North Carolina State vs. Connecticut at 9 p.m., both on ESPN.
The Texas Longhorns didn't have as good of a season as we have come to expect from them, but they are still one of the biggest names in all of College Basketball. They aren't losing a lot of talent of their team either, and with the young Hoyas growing up some in the offseason, this could be a pretty good test for both squads. And it never hurts to have an early season game in Madison Square Garden to help put your team back on the collective minds of College Basketball fans and decision makers.
