CAA Baseball Tournament 2012: North Carolina Wilmington Grabs Top Seed

The double-elimination tournament will be held at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.

The 2012 Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Tournament, also known as the Virginia 529 CAA Baseball Championship, begins on Wednesday at Veteran's Memorial Park in Harrisonburg, Va., on the campus of James Madison University, which is hosting the annual event.

North Carolina Wilmington enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed, while Hofstra is the No. 2 seed. Both have first-round byes and will play the winner of Georgia Mason-VCU and Delaware-Towson, respectively. It is a double-elimination format and this first year marks the tournament is at six teams since downsizing to four teams during the 2011 and 2010 seasons.

James Madison won the tournament last season after beating Old Dominion 10-1 in the title game. It did not, however, make the field this season.

All games, which are scheduled to run through Saturday, will be streamed live for free on CAASports.com
