2012 ACC Baseball Tournament: Virginia Opens Play Against Clemson

Virginia, the No. 4 seed, begins its journey toward a second straight ACC tournament crown this morning as they open postseason play against the No. 5 seed Clemson Tigers at 11:00 a.m. The Cavaliers finished the season with a 36-16-1 mark, registering an 18-12 record in conference play. They've won two of the last three ACC tournament titles. Along with Clemson, Virginia is grouped with No. 1 Florida State and No. 8 Georgia Tech in Pool A.

Right-hander Branden Kline (6-3, 3.89 ERA) will take the mound for the Cavaliers, who swept the regular-season series with Clemson, 3-0.

All ACC tournament games are being played at NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro, N.C., and they will all be televised by CSN Mid-Atlantic and streamed online at ESPN3.

Today's full ACC tournament schedule:

11:00 a.m.: No. 5 Clemson Vs. No. 4 Virginia

3:00 p.m.: No. 2 North Carolina Vs. No. 6 Miami

7:00 p.m.: No. 3 N.C. State Vs. No. 7 Wake Forest
