ACC Baseball Tournament Day 3 Recap: Florida State Eliminated From Contention, Miami Stays Alive

On the one hand, No. 8-seed Georgia Tech has been the surprise of the ACC baseball tournament with their 5-4 victory against Florida State in the opening round, then a 17-5 thumping of Virginia on Day 3. On the other hand, though, the Seminoles have also been a surprise in this tournament, considering their loss to the Yellow Jackets, and the heartbreaking come-from-behind walk-off loss to Clemson on Friday.

The Miami Hurricanes also kept their championship hopes alive on Friday with a 6-3 win against Wake Forest. Now the Canes redirect their attention to the North Carolina-NC State game on Saturday, hoping a Tar Heels victory over the Wolfpack will grant them a spot in the championship game on Sunday.

Miami had been dead even with Wake Forest until a three-run seventh inning opened things up a bit for the Canes.

Here is a look at the Day 4 schedule for the ACC tournament:

- Georgia Tech vs. Clemson, 11 a.m.

- Virginia vs. Florida State, 3 p.m.

- NC State vs. North Carolina 7 p.m.
