Nationals manager Davey Johnson announced a change to the Washington rotation after Saturday's game against the Braves. Via Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post:
Chien-Ming Wang will replace Ross Detwiler in the Nationals' rotation, Manager Davey Johnson said, a decision Johnson based on Wang's track record and Detwiler being better suited to pitch in relief.
"It's a tough decision, but I think it's best for the whole ball club," Johnson said.
The Nationals original plan out of spring training was to have Wang slotted fifth in the rotation, but a strained hamstring led to the veteran righty missing the first seven weeks of the season. Detwiler was 3-3 with a 3.88 ERA as a starter this year, and will now become a lefty asset in a bullpen that has undergone some recent shuffling,
