French Open Results: Maria Kirilenko Bows Out In Second Round

As French Open play rolls on, the No. 16 seed on the women's side, Maria Kirilenko of Russia, was upset (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) by the unseeded Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic. The 25-year-old Kirilenko is the girlfriend of Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin.

No. 4 Petra Kvitova won in straight sets (6-3, 6-1) over Urszula Radwanska, while No. 2 Maria Sharapova will be in action against Ayumi Morita later today.

On the men's side, No. 4 Andy Murray dropped the first set but then won the next three to defeat Jarkko Niemenen (1-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2). No. 2 Rafael Nadal took down Dennis Istomin in straight sets (6-2, 6-2, 6-0), and No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated Cedrik-Marcel Stebe in four sets (6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1).
