Adam LaRoche of the Washington Nationals ranks fifth in all-star voting among first basemen.
Last week, the MLB released the first standings for voting for the 2012 All-Star Game to be played July 10 in Kansas City. Despite a huge amount of injuries to position players through the season so far, one Nationals player has found himself ranked among the best in all-star voting.
Adam LaRoche currently ranks fifth among first basemen in voting with 331,173 votes. He has a very tall task ahead of him if he wants to start, as Joey Votto holds first place by a wide margin with 1.3 million votes.
It is expected that Nationals pitchers such as Stephen Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez will make the team, however, the decision of what pitchers makes the team falls on the managers.
