2012 U.S. Open Golf Leaderboard: Tiger Woods Even, Phil Mickelson And Bubba Watson Struggling

The first round of the U.S. Open from the Olympic Club in San Francisco is certainly looking like a difficult course with only half of the field in progress right now. As of now, 11 of 78 golfers in the first round have a score under par.

The marquee group of the first round include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson. Woods has played 12 holes overall, starting on the back nine and is currently at even for the tournament. After bogeying 14, he regained that stroke by scoring a birdie on 17.

Mickelson has struggled to start the tournament and is shooting four over through 12 completed holes. Mickelson started with three straight bogeys to start the back nine. After regaining one stroke with a birdie on 13, he bogeyed 14 and 16 to put him at his current score.

Watson has struggled the most of this group, now at seven over through 12 completed holes. Watson has bogeyed six holes and double bogeyed 18. The double bogey was after he birdied 17 to gain a stroke back.

There is currently a three way tie for the lead with Americans Jason Bohn and Michael Thompson and Spaniard Rafael Caballero-Bello all tied at two under.
