The Washington Capitals added eight new players to the fold in last week's 2012 NHL Draft. The team's latest infusion of talent was highlighted by the Filip Forsberg pick at No. 11 in the first round. That was one of two first-round picks for the Caps on Friday night. Though it is still early, Washington is scoring great marks for their work in the draft.
Monday morning draft grades from Matt Wagner at SB Nation's NHL hub put Washington among the best in the Eastern Conference, thanks to a surprise in the opening round.
Arguably landing the steal of the draft when Filip Forsberg dropped to them at 11th overall, Washington also made a good move to land Mike Ribiero to fill out their top six and added a gritty two way player with Thomas Wilson who seems like he could be a good fit for the "Dale Hunter" style of hockey. Shame that Hunter won't actually be back to coach the team. A
Now all the Caps need is a coach.
