One day removed from a convincing 9-1 win over Army, the Virginia Cavaliers square off against Appalachian State on Sunday with a trip to the NCAA Regional championship game on the line. Against the Black Knights, UVa collected just eight hits in its eight-run victory. Meanwhile, the Mountaineers are coming off a narrow 5-4 win over Oklahoma, edging the Sooners after starting pitcher Ryan Arrowood surrendered just one run over eight innings.
The loser will face the winner of Army and Oklahoma later in the evening. The regional features a double-elimination format.
Game Date/Time: Sunday, 3 p.m. EST
Venue: Davenport Field, Charlottesville, Virginia
