Belmont Stakes 2012: Dullahan Trainer Would Be Surprised To Not Win

Most casual fans tuning in to the 2012 Belmont Stakes will be pulling for history to be made as I'll Have Another attempts to win the first Triple Crown since 1978. For the 11 other horses and their teams, though, that couldn't be further from the truth—especially for Dullahan.

The second-favorite for Saturday's race at 6-1, Dullahan's team is pretty confident in its chances. Jerry Crawford, the leader of Dullahan's ownership team, told the Baltimore Sun that they "owe it to Affirmed, Seattle Slew and the rest" to win in New York. Dale Romans, Dullahan's trainer, told the Sun, "I'll be surprised if we don't win."

Dullahan skipped the Preakness after finishing third in the Kentucky Derby. The horse will be running from the No. 5 position.
