The William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center at Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C. will play host to the 2012 Citi Open ATP World Tour event starting Saturday, and running until Sunday, August 5.
While the eyes of many sports fans will likely be on the 2012 London Olympic Games, the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center at Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C. will play host to the 2012 Citi Open ATP World Tour event starting Saturday, and running until Sunday, August 5, concurrent with the tennis tournament at the Olympics. This is the 44th edition of the men's event and second edition of the women's event formerly know as the Legg Mason Tennis Classic.
The men's side of the draw is headlined by American Mardy Fish and German Tommy Hass. Fish opted out of the Olympics to fine tune his game on hardcourts leading up to the U.S, Open.
Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and South African Chanelle Scheepers, not selected for their Olymic teams, headline the women's field.
