2012 Wimbledon Championships Results: Roger Federer Downs Andy Murray In Four Sets

Stay connected for news and updates

In what was a vintage display, Roger Federer defeated Andy Murray in the 2012 Wimbledon Gentlemen's Championship, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4.

Rallying behind his home fans, Murray jumped out to an early lead, winning the first set, 6-4. After that, Federer put on an impressive display, making incredible shot after incredible shot to sink Murray down the stretch. In the beginning of the third set, rain moved into the area, forcing the roof to be closed, and allowing the harder serving Federer to take control of the match.

This is the 17th Grand Slam tournament victory for Federer, and his 75th overall title between Grand Slams and ATP World Tour events.
