Redskins Training Camp: Mike Shanahan Uncertain If Jammal Brown Will Play In 2012

Stay connected for news and updates

When the Washington Redskins signed Jammal Brown prior to the 2011 season, they did so hoping he would anchor their their right tackle spot for the foreseeable future. Now, in just the second season of the deal, the Redskins aren't even sure if Brown will play this season.

Brown had offseason surgery on his left hip and is reportedly dealing with issues in both hips during training camp. He is currently on the physically unable to perform list and could land on injured reserve or be released if injury problems persist. The 31-year-old Brown signed a five-year contract prior to last season, worth $27.5 million. He is still owed $4.4 million of his guaranteed bonus, according to a report from The Washington Times.
