Nick Watney won his first title of 2012 Sunday when he shot a two-under par in the final round of The Barclays to claim the trophy. Sergio Garcia, who held the lead after three rounds, shot a four-over fourth round and fell to third place behind Brandt Snedeker. Watney's previous best finish this year was eighth place in the Wells Fargo Championship in May.
Garcia entered Sunday with a 10-under, 54-hole score, but things started to unravel at the eighth hole, when he started a string of three bogeys in four holes, effectively ending his chances at the title. Watney played a smooth, even final round, and closed it out with a birdie and a fist-pump on 18. Watney finished at 10-under, three strokes ahead of Snedeker and four ahead of Garcia and Dustin Johnson.
Canadian Graeme DeLaet had the low score of the day with a six-under 65, and finished tied for fourth place with Lee Westwood, Louis Oosthuizen and Brian Harman.

The final round of The Barclays at Bethpage Black is underway, and leader Sergio Garcia, who's 10-under par, still holds a two-stroke lead over Nick Watney (8-under par) as nobody with early-morning tee times have made a move to the top of the leaderboard. Garcia and Watney tee off at 1:40 p.m. ET.
On the course is Tiger Woods, who has completed six holes and is 1-over par for the day, and 3-under par overall. Woods is having a roller coaster-like round as he made bogeys on Holes No. 1, 3 and 5, but made birdies on No. 2 and 4.
As for the local players, University of Virginia alum James Driscoll finished early Sunday with a four-day total of 295 (11-over par) and will finish in 75th place and Richmond, Va. native John Rollins finished at 3-over par and in a tie for 58th.

Sergio Garcia began the day at The Barclays 2012 tournament tied with Nick Watney atop the leaderboard, but Garcia's 2-under par round of 69 has given him separation from Watney and sole possession of first place entering Sunday's final round of play.
Watney shot an even par 71 on Saturday, and sits alone at 8-under for the tournament. American Kevin Stadler was stellar on moving day, carding a 6-under round of 65 to jump to 7-under par for the tournament and sole possession of third place.
Six golfers are five shots off the pace entering the final round. Tiger Woods was 1-over for the day, and sits in a tie for 10th place with seven other golfers, a group that includes Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood.

After beginning the day tied atop The Barclays 2012 leaderboard, Nick Watney and Sergio Garcia again find themselves tied after 12 holes of play on Saturday, both at 9-under. Seven players are within four shots of the lead with American Bob Estes the closest competitor at 8-under par and Kevin Stadler a shot off at 7-under after shooting a 65 on moving day.
Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods are both five shots off the pace with Mickelson shooting a 4-under round of 67 on Saturday and Woods just now playing the 15th hole.
K.J. Choi and Justin Rose struggled mightily in the third round. Choi is 10-over on the day with one hole to play and Rose carded an 8-over round of 79.

The final groups are now on the course for the third round of the 2012 Barclays and leaders Nick Watney and Sergio Garcia got off to a fast start with birdies on the first hole. Garcia dropped a shot on the par-3 third hole after carding a bogey there for the third straight day. The putter betrayed Garcia yet again as he burned the edge on a hole that's playing fairly difficult on Saturday.
Watney, who was the regular season FedEx Cup points leader last season, is now in sole possession of the lead at 9-under. Watney has had a decidedly underwhelming summer as he tumbled from one of the best American players in the world to out of contention and off the radar for Ryder Cup consideration.
Tiger Woods is another player who dropped a shot at the par-3 third at Bethpage. Woods, who was bothered by a stiff back on Friday, is certainly not playing at 100 percent on Saturday and now stands at 4-under and is five shots back of leader Watney. Woods is the current FedEx Cup points leader but it's likely he'll relinquish that spot unless he catches fire over the final 27 holes.

Third round action is underway at Bethpage from the 2012 Barclays in Farmingdale, NY. Co-leaders Sergio Garcia and Nick Watney won't tee off until 1:45, but there's been plenty of movement on the leaderboard on Saturday morning.
The big mover has been David Hearn, who began Saturday at one over par. Hearn made four birdies and no bogeys on the front nine, and has added a birdie on the back, launching himself into a tie for 11th at 4-under for the tournament.
Phil Mickelson has also looked strong on Saturday morning, finishing the front nine at three under par.
Rory McIlroy is -2 through ten holes. McIlroy looked like he was on his way to another big tournament when he shot 69 (-2) on Thursday. But on Friday, he struggled on the front nine, making four bogeys on his way to a 2-over 73.
Richmond native John Rollins is one over par on Saturday, bringing him to even par for the tournament.
