2012 U.S. Open Tennis Scores: Play Back Underway After Rain Delay

Afternoon rainstorms tried to slow down the first day of the 2012 U.S. Open, but after a delay, matches have now resumed on multiple courts. Other matches are resuming as courts are dry and playable.

Dennis Kudla, who resides in Arlington, VA, lost the first set of his match with Marcel Granollers 6-3. Kudla lead the second set 5-3 when the match went into the rain delay.

London Olympic gold medalist Andy Murray won the first set of his match against Alex Bogomolov Jr. six games to two.

American James Blake is currently ahead of Lukas Lacko after winning the first set 7-5 and the second set 6-2. Lacko came back to win the third set 6-3 and has won the first game of the fourth set.

Four matches on the women's side were completed today before play was stopped:

Anna Tatishvili defeated Stephanie Foretz Gacon 6-2, 6-0

Casey Dellacqua defeating Lesia Tsurenko 6-2, 6-3

Lucie Hradecka defeating Anabel Medina Garrigues 6-3, 6-3

Samantha Stosur defeating Petra Martic 6-1, 6-1.
