Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals take on the Miami Marlins Tuesday to start a two-game series

Nationals' pitcher Stephen Strasburg will start the first of a two-game set against the Miami Marlins as his innings limit, and subsequent shutdown, steadily approaches.

The Marlins, unfortunately, catch the Nationals while the young right-hander is still active. In 30 career innings against the Marlins, Strasburg has allowed only one run. His record this season stands at 15-5 with a 2.85 ERA.

Ricky Nolasco will take the mound for Miami. Nolasco has struggled of late, losing six of his last eight starts, bringing his season totals to a less-than-impressive 9-12 record with a 5.07 ERA. He looks to take advantage of a Nationals lineup that could potentially be without both shortstop Ian Desmond and first basemen Michael Morse.

Desmond is nursing a hamstring strain while Morse has not played since being hit by a pitch on the right hand last Friday.

Washington enters the short series with MLB's best record, 77-50.

First pitch tonight is at 7:10 p.m. The game can be seen on MASN2 and heard on 106.7 The Fan.
