Redskins Vs. Buccaneers Final Score: Washington Pounds Tampa Bay 30-3

The Washington Redskins were absolutely overwhelming against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning 30-3 on Wednesday night at FedEx Field.

Robert Griffin III received some rest before the Sept. 9 regular-season opener, leaving the starting role to Kirk Cousins. The rookie looked quite sharp for most of his appearance, completing 15 of 27 passes for 227 yards to accompany an interception.

Washington's running game was also dynamic, totaling 228 yards. Roy Helu turned some heads with 90 yards and two touchdowns on just 15 attempts, giving Redskins fans hope for a breakout season from the Nebraska product. Evan Royster also showed well, gaining 44 yards on 10 carries.

Anthony Armstrong was productive in his limited time, with two catches that went for 61 yards.

The Washington defense was incredibly smothering throughout the contest. The Redskins surrendered only 31 yards rushing and 160 total on the evening. They also produced three turnovers with a trio of Brett Ratliff interceptions.

New kicker Billy Cundiff looked solid, booting three field goals on four attempts.
