U.S. Open 2012 Scores: Novak Djokovic, Maria Sharapova Advance; Laura Robson Pulls Off Upset

On Day 5 of the 2012 U.S. Open on Friday, high seeds Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova both advanced. Laura Robson also pulled off a big upset over No. 9 seed Na Li.

-No. 2 Djokovic, the defending U.S. Open men's singles champion, defeated Rogerio Dutra Silva in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, 6-2.

-No. 3 Sharapova defeated American Mallory Burdette in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Sharapova will face Nadia Petrova in the next round of the tournament.

-Robson, the 18-year-old from Great Britain, defeated Na, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-2. The upset was Robson's second during her improbable run to the Round of 16. Robson will meet No. 7 seed and defending U.S. Open champion Samantha Stosur in the Round of 16.
