Jerry Sichting has joined an already large Washington Wizards coaching staff. The team announced his hiring as an assistant coach on Thursday. In Washington, Sichting will link back up with head coach Randy Wittman, who he has worked with extensively. He spent 11 years under Wittman as an assistant with the Minnesota Timberwolves and also spent one year with the Golden State Warriors as an assistant.
Wittman spoke about Sichting on Thursday.
"I'm obviously very familiar with what Jerry will add to our staff and I'm thrilled to have him on board. His experience playing, teaching and evaluating the game will be valuable on the bench and on the practice court as we continue to develop our players and establish this team's identity."
Sichting spent last year away from the NBA. In total, he's spent 24 years in the league as a player, coach, and as player personnel staff.
