BlogPoll, Week 2: Virginia Tech Jumps 2 Spots to No. 14

Virginia Tech is at No. 14 in the Week 2 edition of the BlogPoll thanks to a 2-0 start and some shocking losses by hyped teams.

The Virginia Tech Hokies won convincingly against Austin Peay in their Week 2 matchup, but that probably isn't what caused Virginia Tech to move up a couple of spots in the Week 2 Blogpoll: much like many schools in the bottom half of the top 25, the Hokies could watch as teams from the top 25 coasted past them on the way out of the poll.

That No. 13 spot is one lower than in both the AP and coaches' polls, with voters in the BlogPoll valuing Kansas State's impressive thumping of Miami enough to put them past the Hokies.

Virginia Tech's strength of schedule will stay low as they take on Pitt next week, but if they keep winning while other teams underperform, nobody will complain as they rise in the polls.
