Virginia Tech's David Wang Injures Left Ankle, Carted Off Field

Stay connected for news and updates

Virginia Tech left guard David Wang was carted off the field with an apparent left foot injury during the Hokies Saturday matchup against Pitt. Wang was being pushed back into the pocket when quarterback Logan Thomas fell into the back of the his legs. Thomas was standing in the pocket when he was hit by Pitt rusher Aaron Donald. The massive VT quarterback went flying into the back of Wang, who instantly went down in pain. Thomas rolled up on Wang's right foot, but the guard immediately went to grab his left foot. Wang was carted off the field with his shoe and sock removed from his left foot. The redshirt junior from Ashburn was injured just eight snaps into the second game of the season last year, missing the remainder of the year with a fractured foot.

Matt Arkema came on to replace him at left guard.
