The injury news made a tough loss against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday even worse. Losing two key players -- including arguably the team's best defensive player -- two weeks into the season is never good, and Redskins fans over at Hogs Haven took the news about as well as you could expect.
"Well, the news is as bad as can be for the injuries." -- Kevin Ewoldt
"This week just got exponentially worse" -- Bahga
"this is bad real bad. Teams are going to run left the whole game now. Raks presence off the field will be felt and people will understand that even though he only has one move to get to the quaterback he still does a lot of other things that impact games big time :( this just sucks" -- no more kwame's in dc
"Hello 6-10! Horrible news coming after an inexcusable loss." -- SlappyWilson
While most fans were understandably dissapointed, not everyone was ready to give up on the season just yet.
"Texans lost Mario Williams last year, defense didn't blink an eye. (actually it was the same injury I believe)…I’m not diving off a cliff yet" -- acno77dlye
Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo will miss the remainder of the 2012 season due to a tear in his left pectoral muscle, according to head coach Mike Shanahan. The tear is in a different spot than the injury he sustained last season and the recovery time is expected to take around four months.
Orakpo injured his left pectoral muscle in the final game of last season while sacking Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Mike Vick and required surgery to repair the injury. Although this injury is in a different area of the muscle, it too will require surgery, which is expected to occur later this week.
Redskins' Linebacker Brian Opakpo is expected to miss at least one game after suffering a familiar injury to his left pectoral muscle in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the St. Louis Rams.
