Bowling Green Vs. Virginia Tech Blog Reaction: 'The Hokies Improved In A Lot Of Areas'

It won't get them back in the AP Poll, but the Virginia Tech Hokies did what they needed to do in a 37-0 romp over Bowling Green.

The Hokies moved the ball with ease while allowing the Falcons to complete only a third of their passes. Hokies blog Gobbler Country still found flaws with many aspects of the game, including Logan Thomas' throwing, and play-calling that seemed to involve a few too many wide receiver screens. But there was a lot to be positive about in the shutout, including Virginia Tech's running game:

The important thing offensively? We ran the football, and well. Four rushers had at least 45 yards (although none came close to the 100-yard mark). That seems to be the way this offense will operate this season, as the younger Beamer has said they will go with the hot hand.

As for Thomas, his 11-for-26 performance was far from ideal, with Gobbler Country noting that the junior QB was "WAY off with a lot of his throws, maybe even more so than in the last couple of weeks."
