Cincinnati Vs. Virginia Tech: Hokies trail Bearcats, 3-0, after first quarter

Stay connected for news and updates

The Virginia Tech Hokies (3-1, 1-0 ACC) struggled to find an offensive rhythm in the fist quarter, and trail the visiting Cincinnati Bearcats 3-0 after the game's first 15 minutes.

Quarterback Logan Thomas is 3-of-4 passing, for just 4 yards. As a team, the Hokies were unable to notch even one first down in the quarter, and have just 23 total yards as play begins in the second quarter. Virginia Tech has only two more total yards than penalty yards (21).

Cincinnati quarterback Munchie Legaux is 6-of-14 passing on the day, for 68 yards. Kenbrell Thompkins has been the recipient of three of those passes, gaining 54 yards. The Bearcats have dominated the ball thus far in the game, doubling the time of possession of the host Hokies.

The game's only points have come courtesy of Cincinnati kicker Tony Miliano, who made a 20-yard field goal nine minutes into the game.
