Marcus Davis Injury: Virginia Tech WR Leaves Game With Apparent Shoulder Injury

Stay connected for news and updates

Virginia Tech wide receiver Marcus Davis was slow to get up and had to be helped to his feet by trainers following a 35-yard reception from quarterback Logan Thomas. He left the game with an apparent shoulder injury.

Davis caught a pass from Thomas on a slant, avoided a tackle and zig-zagged his way down the field for a big gain for the Hokies, but came down awkwardly when he was tackled. Davis fumbled on the play, but the ball was recovered by a Virginia Tech teammate. Davis laid on his back momentarily. When he was helped to his feet by trainers, he stood for a second, composed himself, then ran off the field.

Davis' replacement, Demitri Knowles, caught a 42-yard touchdown pass from Thomas on the following play. Virginia Tech now trails Georgia Tech, 17-14.

Davis had six catches for 82 yards before exiting with the injury.
