PHOTO: Washington Nationals Rookies, Dressed As The U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team

The Washington Nationals lost on Sunday 8-0 to the visiting Miami Marlins, but it appears the defeat did not put a damper on the annual baseball tradition of dressing rookies up in, how do we put it, oddly-fitting outfits. Last year, Nationals rookies were dressed as Smurfs for a late season road trip. Well, this year the rookie fashion hazing took a patriotic turn, as the Washington newbies donned the apparel of the gold medal-winning U.S. Women's Gymnastics team. Won't you join me after the jump for a look at this fashion faux pas?

Special thanks to Nationals lefty Gio Gonzalez for sharing this image with the world:

Just one question: would McKayla Maroney be impressed?
