Redskins injury report: Kory Lichtensteiger does not practice Thursday

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Redskins had two players unable to practice on Thursday.

Washington Redskins starting left guard Kory Lichtensteiger and backup cornerback D.J. Johnson did not practice on Thursday, head coach Mike Shanahan announced after the team's practice on Thursday.

Lichtensteiger had played every snap for the Redskins this season before spraining his ankle in the season finale against the Dallas Cowboys. Lichtensteiger is still hopeful that he will be able to play against the Seattle Seahawks, but will likely need to participate on Friday in order to play on Sunday. Shanahan proved unwilling to speculate on the guard's chances to suit up.

Backup quarterback Kirk Cousins and linebacker London Fletcher both practiced in full on Thursday after missing practice on Wendesday. Cousins missed practice with the flu, while Fletcher is battling an ankle injury.

DeJon Gomes returned to practice as well, but only in a limited fashion. Gomes and Johnson are both currently struggling with knee injuries.

Cornerback Cedric Griffin practiced for the second straight day after his four game suspension, and Shanahan stated that he had an improved practice on Thursday.
