The 2012 Masters is finally finished in Augusta. Following Sunday's final round, Bubba Watson emerged victorious following two sudden-death playoff holes. As a result, Watson not only wins the famous green jacket that denotes a Masters victory, but takes home the lion's share of the big Augusta purse.

Watson will earn $576,000 more than Louis Oosthuizen, his 10-under opponent in the final playoff. They will both earn quite a bit more than the foursome who tied in third place at 8-under: Lee Westwood, Phil Mickelson, Peter Hanson and Matt Kuchar. All four of those men made a big last push for the top of the leaderboard, but came up short.

Sunday brought the final round of the 2012 Masters in Augusta. Following a tremendous 72 holes of golf, the winner needed to be determined via playoff, as Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen finished their fourth rounds tied for the lead at 10-under. After two playoff holes, Bubba Watson managed a par to claim the 2012 Masters title.

Oosthuizen and Watson played hole 18 under sudden-death rules, with Watson teeing off first. Both men landed flush on the green and garnered a big roll towards the pin with their second shots, with Watson showing the closer approach. Both men missed their birdie attempts by inches and the playoff went to a second hole.

On the second playoff hole, Watson teed off first and wound up in the trees, while Oosthuizen appeared to wind up in the trees as well, but wound up in the rough just off the fairway. Watson was able to find the green with a tremendous shot out of the trees and sunk the par after Oosthuizen bogeyed to take the hole and the title.

Phil Mickelson and Peter Hanson, who entered the final round in the top two slots on the leaderboard at 9-under and 8-under, respectively, faltered on Sunday and ended up having to settle for even round and a share of third place. Mickelson's triple-bogey on the par-3 fourth hole proved to be his undoing. He and Hanson finished tied for third place with Matt Kuchar and Lee Westwood, all at 8-under.

In Sunday's final round of the 2012 Masters in Augusta, South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen holds a slim one-stroke lead and sits at 10-under through 15 holes.

Oosthuizen had a big double-eagle on the second hole but was unable to extend a big lead throughout the remainder of his front nine. He has put together a pair of birdies in his back nine thus far, including a birdie on 15 to once again move one stroke ahead of Bubba Watson, who is at 9-under. Matt Kuchar had briefly tied Oosthuizen at 9-under, but bogeyed on hole 16 to fall two strokes off the lead.

Watson and Kuchar keep coming on late in the round, so it may come down to Oosthuizen maintaining his pace and hoping the challengers run out of time and opportunity.

The 2012 Masters is still wide-open heading into the last holes of Sunday's final round. South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen began making his move on Saturday and in his final round stands alone at the top of the leaderboard, although he has a full contingent gunning for the top spot and well within reach of the lead.

Through 13 holes, Oosthuizen is at 9-under. In second place at 7-under are Lee Westwood, Bubba Watson and Matt Kuchar.

Close behind those leaders, at 6-under, are Phil Mickelson, Peter Hanson and Ian Poulter.

The Washington Nationals could not quite manage a sweep to open their 2012 season. On Sunday, the Nats attempted a late rally, but fell just short to the hometown Chicago Cubs, 4-3

Washington fell behind 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth, but attempted to make a last-ditch comeback in the top of the ninth. With two outs, Ryan Zimmerman reached on a scoring error. Adam LaRoche hit a two-run home run to right field to bring the Nats to within one. Jayson Werth walked, putting the tying run on base, but Xavier Nady popped out in foul territory to end the game and the series.

The Nationals had only four hits in the game, two of which were the double and home run in the ninth inning.

What an amazing couple of days in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Thursday and Friday in the Round of 64 saw massive upsets and a slew of come-from-behind and last-minute wins. Among the teams enjoying big -- in one case, historic -- upsets were VCU and Norfolk State. On top of all that, Georgetown was also able to advance with ease. There will be plenty for area fans to cheer for ... for one more day, at least.

We've barely had time to catch our breath before the Round of 32 kicks off. Saturday will have eight more matchups and we've got your viewing info for all of them right here. No need to thank us; we do it because we care.

Saturday's games will feature Thursday's winners duking it out to determine who enters the Sweet 16 as we get one day closer to crowning a national champion.

The Washington Wizards continue their road trip on Tuesday night as they visit the Portland Trail Blazers. If the Wizards pick up the win, it will be just their third road victory of the season.

The Washington Wizards are 2-10 on the road this season. They'll look to make that record just a little bit better on Tuesday night as they visit the formidable Portland Trail Blazers, who are an impressive 11-3 when playing at home.

The game will begin at 10:00 p.m. ET at the Rose Garden in Portland, OR. You can watch the game on Comcast SportsNet or NBA TV. Alternatively, you can listen to the radio broadcast on 106.7 FM.

The Wizards are coming off a decisive win over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. After a hot start to the shortened 2011-12 NBA season, the Trail Blazers have lost three of their last four games and four of their last six. The Wizards will hope to keep the momentum rolling after their big win in Detroit as their five-game road trip rolls on.

The CAA conference currently has a three-way tie for first place, with three different men's basketball teams holding an identical 13-2 record in conference play. Two of those teams will face off against one another on Tuesday night, as the George Mason Patriots will host the Va. Commonwealth Rams. At the end of the night, one of those teams will no longer hold a share of first place.

Tuesday night's game will tip off at 9:00 p.m. ET at the Patriot Center in Fairfax. The game will air locally on Comcast SportsNet.

VCU will enter the game riding an 11-game winning streak and have not lost a game since January 8. George Mason, meanwhile, is looking to extend their winning streak to four. The Patriots suffered their most recent loss on February 1 against the Delaware Blue Hens.
