On my eighth birthday, I got the best present any boy could ask for: A jersey of my favorite athlete, Chris Webber. The next day, Chris Webber was traded by my favorite team, the Washington Wizards, to Sacramento. At that moment I had two choices: Abandon my DC sports fanhood and its heart-breaking realities, or stick it out through thick and thin, good times or bad.
