The Fire and United square off in a potential playoff preview on Wednesday night.
D.C. United and the Chicago Fire will play an extremely important match on Wednesday night at RFK Memorial Stadium.
United is currently sitting in the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, while Chicago is tenuously in third. Both squads desperately need the points, leading to what should be a terrific showdown.
The Fire are currently on fire, winners of their last three matches to vault themselves comfortably into the thick of postseason contention. D.C. is coming off a tie against the Philadelphia Union, which saw both defender Emiliano Dudar and Branko Boskovic garner red cards.
United hasn't had the best of luck in recent times against Chicago. In their last four meetings, D.C. has only managed two draws while falling the other two times in defeat.
However that may change considering United hasn't lost at RFK since the opening home match of the season, 1-0 against Sporting KC.
