D.C. United will play their fourth match in 10 days on Wednesday against the New York Red Bulls.
D.C. United will host the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday night in an Eastern Conference showdown.
Currently sitting with a one-point lead in the race for the fifth and final playoff spot in the East, United are in the midst of a grueling stretch where the team will play five matches over the course of 13 days. United are currently 1-1-1 over that span and have two more matches remaining (including Wednesday night) prior to earning a two-week break.
With a win on Wednesday, the club can close out August with a winning record of 3-2-1 for the month.
The Red Bulls will be entering the game undefeated in their last three matches (2-0-1) and will have a chance to overtake Sporting Kansas City for the top spot in the East with a victory against United.
