George Mason vs. Manhattan: Patriots Look To Bounce Back After Loss

Stay connected for news and updates

The Jaspers, in the midst of a five-game winning streak, stand in the Patriots way.

Coming off a 75-64 loss against Duquesne on Wednesday night, George Mason will look for a quick bounce-back at home on Friday against Manhattan. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the Patriot Center.

The Patriots (7-4) shot a robust 48.1 percent against the Dukes, but 21 George Mason turnovers and nine offense rebounds gave Duquesne plenty of extra opportunities to score. Add in 8-16 shooting by the Dukes from the perimeter, and the Patriots left themselves with simply too many obstacles to overcome.

Now, they'll face an 8-4 Manhattan team in the midst of a five-game winning streak. The Jaspers, paced by leading scorer George Beamon (16.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game) are already 2-0 in the MEAC and defeated Towson 81-62 last time out on Dec. 20.

After this game, coach Paul Hewitt and his Patriots will get a week off before facing the College of Charleston on Dec. 30.
