Towson Vs. George Mason Final Score: Patriots Hold Off Winless Tigers, 72-60

Stay connected for news and updates

The George Mason basketball team picked up a win on Saturday, but it wasn't pretty. Facing a winless Towson squad at home that may be one of the worst Division I teams in the past decade, the Patriots played unevenly, allowing Towson to make a game of it before eventually winning, 72-60, to move to 7-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

It looked like the Patriots would get an easy win, but Towson staged a rally to cut the lead to five points with two minutes to go. Ultimately, though, the Patriots responded and did just enough to win.

Sherrod Wright scored 22 points off the bench to lead George Mason in this one. Towson falls to 0-20 on the year.
