George Mason Vs. UNC-Wilmington: Patriots Hit The Road To Take On Struggling Seahawks

The George Mason Patriots (20-6, 12-2 CAA), winners of 13 of their last 15 games, hit the road Saturday night to take on a struggling UNC-Wilmington (9-15, 5-9) squad. George Mason is currently tied for first place in the CAA with VCU and Drexel.

George Mason last played Wednesday, defeating Hofstra 72-62. UNC-Wilmington, on the other hand, suffered an embarrassing 71-53 defeat in their last contest to Delaware. The Seahawks have lost eight of their last 10 games, and are the only team to lose to Towson since December of 2010.

These two teams met up January 23rd, with George Mason scoring a 67-61 win after a miserable start. A 19-2 run spanning the end of the first half and beginning of the second half helped the Patriots escape with the victory.

The Patriots are led by CAA Player of the Year candidate Ryan Pearson (17.7 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game). UNCW has a star in his own right in Keith Rendleman (15.0 ppg, 10.9 rpg).
