George Mason went on the road to take on Northeastern on Wednesday night hoping to hold onto the CAA division lead. The Colonials led 38-31 at halftime, but the Huskies proved to be tough in the second half. The Huskies went on a run in the second half to take the lead, but George Mason was able to rally back and take the lead.
Unfortunately for George Mason, Northeastern wasn't going to just surrender the lead easily and powered back to tie the game and send it into overtime. The Patriots took the lead early in halftime and looked like they'd pull out the win, but once again the Huskies rallied back and took the lead, holding it for the 85-82 upset over George Mason.
With the loss, George Mason's top spot in the CAA conference is in jeopardy. Mike Morrison finished the game with 19 points, leading the Patriots, while Ryan Pearson and Vertrail Vaughns,Vertrail Vaughns finished the game with 11 points. For the Huskies in the upset, Jonathan Lee was a big reason for the overtime victory with 27 points. Kashief Edwards also picked up 22 points in the win while Joel Smith added 19 points for Northeastern.

The George Mason Patriots are in the midst of a five-game winning streak and are trying to extend it to six games on the road against the Northeastern Huskies. The Patriots lead Northeastern at halftime by just seven points, 38-31. Northeastern is just 8-8 in the CAA this season, but they're hanging tough against George Mason at halftime.
Mike Morrison leads George Mason with 10 points and 4 rebounds at halftime, while both Vaughn Gray and Sherrod Wright both picked up eight points off the bench. Despite a size advantage, George Mason and Northeaster are all tied up rebounding the ball, 13-13. For the Huskies Joel Smith leads the way with 11 points while Kashief Edwards is shooting a perfect four-for-four from the floor, picking up nine points in the first half.

The George Mason Patriots are still tied with Drexel for the regular season CAA championship and have just two regular season games remaining to try to pick up the crown. George Mason will take on Northeastern on Wednesday evening on the road as the Patriots look to extend their five-game winning streak.
Northeastern limps into the game however, having lost five of their last six games. The Huskies are coming off a 76-69 loss at home to Stoney Brook and hope to get to the end of the season on a winning note with an upset victory over George Mason and try to finish above .500 in the CAA conference.
