The George Washington Colonials were unable to sustain their early momentum generated by playing No. 24 California close in the opening minutes the first half, falling behind 39-19 as the halftime buzzer sounded.
The Golden Bears hold the advantage in every statistical category at the half, except for blocks, which George Washington leads one to zero. The Bears have shot 58 percent from the field, 67 percent from 3-point range and 88 percent from the foul line.
The Colonials shot a paltry 30 percent from the field and missed their only two free throws, though they shot a great 43 percent from 3-point range. To make up the ground the Colonials will have to rebound the ball better in the second half as they are being out-rebounded by a margin of nearly two to one. They also have to share the ball better as they have assisted on only five shots. Tony Taylor leads George Washington in points with six at the break.
