George Washington Vs. Kansas State: Colonials Fade In Second Half, Fall 69-56 To Wildcats

The George Washington Colonials traveled to Manhattan, Kansas for their first meeting with the Kansas State Wildcats in over 70 years. Mike Lonergan's club hung with the favored Wildcats through the first half, but ran out of gas in the second to fall by 13 points. As the cliche goes, "you live by the three, and die by the three," and tonight GW went cold from behind the arc. The Colonials were 5 of 19 from three point range, shooting just 26%. They were not much better from the field overall, shooting just 31% in a rowdy and tough road environment at the "Octagon of Doom."

Tony Taylor once again led the Colonials, chipping in 14 points. Like the rest of his team, however, Taylor was cold and put up that 14 on 14 shots from the floor. His backcourt mate and fellow scorer, Lasan Kromah, hit just four of 15 shots and added only nine points. The Colonials closed K-State's lead to one early in the second half, but after the under 16 timeout, the Wildcats offense finally got on track and blitzed GW to pull away comfortably.
